Study Visits to Singapore: Check Each Delegate's Entry and Activities First

Much of a study visit is settled before departure: which travel document each delegate holds, what they will do in Singapore and who will speak on stage. We design the itinerary around your theme, arrange host organisations and speakers, host the group throughout, and check each of these points against ICA and MOM rules.

What we do

  • •We work with companies, educational institutions and youth groups.
  • •We design itineraries around the visit theme, arrange host organisations and speakers, and host the group throughout.
  • •Every itinerary is tailored to the group. A full sample corporate itinerary is on the corporate study visit page (/study/tours/business/).

Before departure: travel documents and arrival card

  • •Holders of ordinary passports of the People's Republic of China can stay in Singapore for up to 30 days without a visa from 9 February 2024 1. Delegates with other travel documents should check ICA's visa requirements first 2.
  • •A visa or visa exemption does not by itself mean entry; ICA officers at the checkpoint decide entry and the length of stay for each visitor 7.
  • •All foreign visitors must submit the SG Arrival Card on the ICA website before arriving, and submission is free 3. ICA notes that websites charging a fee for this are not affiliated with ICA 3.

In Singapore: what needs no application, and what needs MOM notification

  • •No application or notification needed: company meetings and meetings with business partners; attending study tours, training courses, workshops, seminars or conferences as a participant; visiting exhibitions as a trade visitor. This holds for the length of the Short-Term Visit Pass, provided there is no contract of service or for service with a Singapore employer 4.
  • •Notify MOM before you start: speaking, moderating or training at a seminar or conference, and exhibiting at an exhibition. These activities are capped at 90 days in total per calendar year 4.
  • •On-the-job training requires a work pass and is not an exempt activity 4.

Youth study tours: short courses and the Student's Pass

A Short-Term Visit Pass holder can take a short course without a Student's Pass if the course ends within the pass validity or 30 days, whichever is shorter, is a complete stand-alone module, and involves no practical occupational training or industrial attachment with walk-in customers or at business premises such as a salon 5. Anything beyond this needs a Student's Pass arrangement.

Fees

  • •Our service fee is quoted per group; accommodation, transport and visit costs are charged at cost 6.
  • •The quote lists our fee and pass-through costs separately, and you confirm it before departure.
